It has been just under four months since martial arts fans around the world got their fix of ONE Championship.

This past weekend, however, all of that changed. The Home Of Martial Arts pulled off not one, but two ONE Hero Series (OHS) events in Shanghai, China.

On Saturday, 20 June, ONE Hero Series 13 kicked off behind closed doors and was broadcasted throughout China. On Sunday, 21 June, the action continued with ONE Hero Series 14 under the same conditions.

Group President of ONE Championship, Hua Fung Teh, expressed his appreciation for the martial arts community who eagerly awaited the return of ONE.

“We at ONE Championship are delighted to once again host the world’s most exciting martial arts events. I would like to personally thank all the fans for their continued support for our organization and our athletes,” he said.

“Shanghai served as the perfect backdrop for the prestigious ONE Hero Series, which aims to showcase the absolute best in rising young martial arts talent from China.”

The two OHS events were the first to take place for ONE since the global COVID-19 pandemic brought the sports world to a standstill in March, and safety was of the utmost priority.

“By enforcing strict safety and sanitary measures, we made sure to prioritize the health and well-being of everyone who made these back-to-back events a huge success,” Hua said.

“As a result, ONE Hero Series was able to share the very best of martial arts with the world, showcasing the power of the human spirit.”

Headlining OHS 13 was Ze Lang Zha Xi and ONE newcomer “The Little Monster” Liang Hui. Ze outpointed his opponent to earn a unanimous decision and bring his record to 13-4-1.

Topping off OHS 14 was Xu Liu and “The Young King” Zhao Xiao Yu. The two athletes met in the Circle under ONE Super Series kickboxing rules, and Xu defeated “The Young King” by unanimous decision to nudge his record to 24-6.

Kickboxing veterans “The Dragon King” Fu Qing Nan and “The Great Sage” Wei Zi Qin, and mixed martial arts standouts Zhang Ze Hao, Wang Zhen, and Li Zhe, also graced the Circle over the weekend.
