Dazzling Double-Header Announced For ONE: CENTURY

ONE Championship - August 30, 2019

ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong has revealed more details about the promotion’s historic 100th live event, ONE: CENTURY.

Set to take place at the iconic Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan on Sunday, 13 October, the event features four previously announced ONE World Title bouts and three ONE World Grand Prix Championship Finals.

Also, for the first time, viewers in the USA can watch the event live on primetime through TNT on Saturday evening.

In a recent Facebook post, Sityodtong revealed all 22 match-ups – 11 for each show to fill out the already stacked card – at ONE: CENTURY.

The main event for the first show will be the highly anticipated rematch between “Unstoppable” Angela Lee and “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan.

In a reversal of their first encounter, Xiong – the reigning ONE Strawweight World Champion – drops down a weight division and challenges Lee for her ONE Women’s Atomweight World Title.

Now, “The Panda” has the chance to be the first female to become a two-division ONE World Champion.

Two ONE World Grand Prix Championship Finals form the co-main events for the first show.

In the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix Championship Final, pound-for-pound great Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson squares off against Filipino prodigy Danny “The King” Kingad.

Next, American icon Eddie “The Underground King” Alvarez faces Turkish phenom Saygid “Dagi” Guseyn Arslanaliev in the ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix Championship Final.

Other superstars competing on the first show include American Muay Thai sensation Janet Todd, Myanmar warrior Phoe Thaw, Malaysian welterweight Agilan Thani, and many more.

The second installment is headlined by the biggest light heavyweight contest in ONE history.

Two-division ONE World Champion Aung La “The Burmese Python” N Sang defends his ONE Light Heavyweight World Title against reigning ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon “The Truth” Vera.

If Vera pulls off the win in Tokyo, he assumes Aung La N Sang’s position as the promotion’s newest two-division World Champion.

Three co-main event bouts will also top the bill for the second show.

Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes puts his ONE Bantamweight World Title on the line against Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon. Likewise, newly-crowned ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon defends his gold against Brazilian challenger Walter Goncalves.

Finally, the blockbuster ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix Championship Final between Giorgio “The Doctor” Petrosyan and Samy “AK47” Sana will go down.

Other local heroes like Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki and Mei “V.V” Yamaguchi will appear inside the Circle.

Also, participants in the four Shooto World Champion vs. Pancrase World Champion bouts have finally been revealed.
