ONE Championship is making a spectacular return to the iconic Ryōgoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan on Sunday, 13 October, and it will be quite a special occasion.
The promotion’s ONE: Century will be the historic 100th live event by The Home Of Martial Arts, and it is shaping up to be its most exciting show to date.
Several phenomenal match-ups have already been announced for this epic card.
“ONE: Century is our historic 100th live event. Set at the iconic Ryōgoku Kokugikan, three World Championship bouts are scheduled to take place alongside three World Grand Prix Championships,” said Chatri Sityodtong, Chairman and CEO Of ONE Championship.
ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion “Unstoppable” Angela Lee of Singapore will defend her title against ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan of China. The bout will be a rematch from their unforgettable five-round encounter, which took place in the same venue back in March.
Another highly anticipated contest will see two-division ONE World Champion Aung La “The Burmese Python” N Sang of Myanmar defend his ONE Light Heavyweight World Title against ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon “The Truth” Vera of the Philippines.
Vera’s Filipino compatriot Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon will also be featured on the show. He is set to challenge ONE Bantamweight World Champion Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes for the title what serves to be the finale of their four-bout series.
Sharing the stage at the Ryōgoku Kokugikan will be four additional Japan Super Bouts.
For the first time ever, four Shooto World Champions will go head-to-head with four Pancrase World Champions, with each winner pocketing a US$50,000 prize.
In addition to that, the world’s largest martial arts organization will be host the inaugural World Martial Arts Week in Tokyo from 5 – 13 October.
The ONE Martial Arts Fan Fest will combine the best of both worlds from martial arts and esports, filling the week with activities and fan engagements leading up to ONE: Century on the weekend.
The ONE Martial Arts Fan Fest at the Bellesalle Shibuya Garden from 5 – 6 October will kick off the festivities for the week. It will feature athlete open workouts and allow fans to meet and greet global superstars like Lee, Vera, and Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson, as well as legends like Miesha Tate and Rich Franklin.
Esports fans will also have the chance to see the best Tekken players in the world compete in the ONE Tekken Tokyo Invitational.
Headlining the ONE Martial Arts Fan Fest will be ONE Warrior Series: Japan vs. The World, pitting the nation’s rising stars against up-and-coming prospects from around the globe.
