On Friday, 9 November, Muay Thai star Muangthai P.K. Saenchaimuaythaigym will make his long-awaited ONE Super Series debut in Singapore.

The 24-year-old’s first appearance in the ONE Championship cage will see him take on another exciting ONE Super Series striker in a bout that has the fans bristling with anticipation.

Muangthai will take on British-based Cypriot Panicos Yusuf in a bantamweight Muay Thai contest at ONE: HEART OF THE LION at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The man known to his fans as the “Elbow Zombie” is ready to unleash his brand of striking brilliance inside the ONE Championship cage.

“I want to make a name for myself in ONE Championship,” he says.

“My dream is to become a multi-discipline champion with the promotion.”

Muangthai may only be 24 years old, but he already has 17 years of Muay Thai experience under his belt, as well as a host of titles.

The Buriram native has captured three Muay Thai world championships in three different divisions, including the Lumpinee Stadium World Title at 108 pounds, the Channel 7 Stadium Title at 130 pounds, and a Thailand Championship at 135 pounds.

Now he is in the world’s largest martial arts organization, he wants to add some belts to his trophy case by becoming a two-discipline World Champion.

His first test in ONE Super Series will be a big one. Yusuf made an impressive debut at ONE: REIGN OF KINGS as he defeated China’s Han Zi Hao by decision in a thrilling match-up.

Muangthai has paid close attention to Yusuf’s performance in that bout and, even though he will be competing in four-ounce gloves for the first time, he says he has the antidote to the Brit’s skills.

“I don’t think he has anything too dangerous, but with mixed martial arts gloves, I’m going to have to watch out for his punches,” Muangthai says.

“My plan is to stalk him down, and grind him out.”

Much is expected of Muangthai on his ONE Super Series debut, but he has the skill set, and the temperament, to put on a show for the fans in Singapore.

His contest against Yusuf should deliver some spectacular striking action, and a victory for the Thai could prove to be the springboard to bigger and better things.

And with the ONE Muay Thai Bantamweight World Title still to be contested, both men will be looking to push themselves to the front of the queue.
